St. Charles Town Company is in the final stages of a major retail redevelopment of a long-vacant bowling alley and lot at 20th Ave. and Sheridan Blvd., across from Sloan’s Lake in the post-war suburb of Edgewater. The site is adjacent to a new Target store, fronts busy Sheridan Blvd., and has stunning views over the lake towards the downtown skyline. The project is a creative and architecturally expressive redevelopment of an existing 18,000 square foot building, as well as the construction of two additional retail buildings with up to 13,000 square feet of retail space. The former bowling alley has a new modern facade and a steel pergola salvaged from the bowling alley’s reception area. St. Charles Town Company acquired this property in January of 2007. Project costs total $10 million.
